"Together"
Today I did actually finish putting together my new uber-PC in its case with all the fans powered up and blah-blah-blah. And I have to say it is rather fast.
One bit of news though: last night after I had submitted my post I decided to see if I could fix that little issue with the system only recognizing four out of six gigs of memory by putting the third memory stick in the only other slot it could go into. I wasn't actually expecting it work. I was all set to order another 2 gig stick. But I put it in the other slot and powered it on and...OMG it worked! Six gigs baby!!
I still have yet to finish installing all my applications or activating Windows so I can install MS Security Essentials but in almost every way I am completely back to where I was on my last system.
I have to say I already knew Firefox portable with Foxmarks (Xmarks?) was pretty sweet but this just reminds me of how good it is. All I had to do was make a new shortcut and run Firefox and then was my browser, all my bookmarks, add-ons...everything. I did have to re-install flash but that didn't really matter since I needed to update the version I had anyway I think. Anyway Firefox portable w/Xmarks == good!
Other than that I went down to my Dad's house for dinner for a couple of hours, which was quite good. Had some of that old in-person kind of gaming with tangible playing cards. I know weird right?
Well since I'd kind of like to install dragon age: origins on my new PC I think I'll end this post early tonight and get that started.
