You know that last post where I said i had this idea and I'd better write out so I can do other stuff? Well guess what. Yep, I did it. I went to the Ikea and purchased what are creatively called a "sofa bed". Some people I hear like to call them futons but I guess the swedes do everything their own way, eh?

For various reasons as soon as we can back from the ikea with this new bed we took the old matress/box spring to the dump. When I finally got back to the condo I started to move stuff around, then move it some where else, then move it again. And the lack of an over-head light in this room didn't exactly help. Finally I got a large portion of my crop moved out of my room so I could move the dress so I could pull back the desk then move the dresser into place then move the desk into place so on and so forth. Then I actually assembled the stupid bed. After all that.

Since then it's just been a game of tetris moving various pieces of furniture to different places in my room to see how if at all well it will all fit together. Finally, at long last, I think I have a winning combination. I'm still surrounded by endless piles of boxes and crap piled on top of other crap but at least I'm not set up to use my roughly 27" wide-screen/flat TV as my monitor with the LCD (the 4:3 kind) supplementing it. as it so happens the two are about the same height even though the 4:3 LCD is a 19".

I also have to eventually plug everything in to power. Some to a regular power strip, some to the mere surge protector side of a UPS and the most important stuff to the actual UPS battery.

I actually started this re-organization project around 4:30 or 5:00 today and I was still going at 11:00 tonight. That's when I decided to go to the grocery store to buy some dinners and have some dinner. And since today is almost over also make a blog entry per my commitment for blog posts. Almost missed it.

Now this was actually my first trip to the Ikea. I could write about that experience if I wanted to but I think I will save that for tomorrow. Hopefully to be writing it my my actual desktop instead of my laptop whilst sitting on my new count. Although it's actually not that bad of setup. Quite comfortable. Ok that's it for tonight. Just made it by 15 minutes.
