"Subassy"

The couple weeks I have been working on the "Super VCR Mod" as much as I could. My goal is to finish it by Christmas which is fast approaching. Really I'd like to have it done by some time in January so I can record the whole season of a few of my favorite shows: Alias, 24 and The Shield. Too late for an entire season but I'll be recording the rest of the season for Lost. I hope 120 gigs is enough for all that.

I bought the 120 gig drive several months ago. I think I paid around $80 for it. The other night I was in Fry's and there was a 200 gig for only $100; no rebate or anything. I so wanted to buy it too. But I'm sticking with my 120 for now. Besides I need that $100 for the memory in the Super VCR Mod.

"FireWire"

Again, been a while since last I posted. Tuesday I watched a movie, Spiderman 2, and last night I watched one of my favorite shows, LOST. I probably could have done an entry after LOST but the condo I live in is way too cold and I was too comfortable rolled up on the couch watching TV. And I'm still cold now actually. As a matter of fact my typically very hot CPU is now running at 40 degrees Celsius. Typically it runs closer to the mid 40s or close to 50.

Tonight I did a little more work on the VCR mod, but haven't updated the site for that yet. I am really excited however as I actually plugged the motherboard into the power supply and turned on the power switch to make sure both the PSU and mobo actually still worked. And they do! I'm so excited. Can ya tell?

Now I have an even better reason for not making an entry last Saturday night: my roommate and I went to a bar. You may be saying "so what" but that's actually out of character for me. I don't go to many bars, ya see. The roommate has the whole wanting to dance thing going on. But there was no one else dancing. Course the bar was attached to a bowling alley. So we left the bar and went into the bowling alley to play some billiards.

Later on we went back to the bar (we got our hands stamped) and looked again. This time lots of people dancing to "Are you down with OPP?", the old rap song. My roommate is a little conservative though so he didn't seem so interested in the freak dancing semi-mosh pit. Keep in mind this is a rather small dance floor, maybe 10 feet by 10 feet. There were some people in there "freak dancing" (I think it's called) with each other. Which you expect at a bar full of 20-somethings on a Saturday night, sure. Also some chicks with some lesbianish tendencies. I don't know if there were lesbians nor do I know why straight chicks like to imitate lesbians and lesbian freak-dance. So my roommate didn't want to freak dance along side the lesbians for some reason. I didn't either but then I don't exactly dance too much either. If I knew I wasn't going look like a fool maybe I would have attempted it.

Ya see any normal heterosexual 26 year-old male would have been happy to join the freak-dancing lesbians on the tiny dance floor without thinking out it. But I've never really danced to begin with so really I'd look like I was having a seizure or something. Anyway the game of Pool I played was fun but Saturday was otherwise unproductive. Except for work, if you can call that productive.

Today on the other hand I kind of liked because it was so quiet in the morning. I went more than 20 minutes without a call. It was great! A little boring maybe, but great. Oh yes, I'm back to taking only desktop product calls. I was taking "portables" plus some other types of calls for a couple months but now I'm desktop only. I mean if someone accidentally gets to me with a portable or whatever I can take it but for the most part I'm going to be desktop.

I'm sure this was exciting but I must go to bed now.

This blog is a combination "personal musings" (mostly satirical and dripping with sarcasm) ranging from what's going on in my life to my views on politics and various current events. I also do some discussions on technology and computer-related projects such as un-holey experiments involving Windows98, a CD and a thumb drive, use your imagination.
