"Get on the bus! Get on the bus!!"
Good thing I'm not losing interest in this blog. That'd be bad. Right? Oh sure I haven't made an entry since the 19th of September.
On Monday I did spend all day submitting resumes to the various online job places like hotjobs, monster etc. not really expecting any responses like I didn't over the summer. But I have received about five phone calls thus far. On Tuesday and yesterday that is. I did not receive any Thursday. Now out of five phone calls isn't it reasonable to expect I will get at least one of them?
I've been thinking ever more about my experience with
Planescape: Torment. The more I think about it the more I seem to like it for some reason. Especially the ending. It really was like a novel. Only you pick which type of novel you want it to be and you get to more of the story depending on what you do and your skills. Only it's visual making it more like a movie. Or comic book. But you can read it over and over and have a completely different experience. Truly this is just one of those games. Of course there are two different parts to it. You are actually playing a game after all. And that has to be fun or what good is the story? Then there's the story that has to keep you playing. Now there are some problems with the actual playing part of it. You can zoom out for instance so long distance spells are limited in use. Worse some spells damage everybody including party members within a particular radius.
But the story is absolutely wonderful. Ok there's some frustrating portions of it also. Like when I just can't figure out where the "Silent King" is and how to get to him. Fortunately there's walkthroughs and guides out there. Also a lot of fan fiction. I managed to find at least one
fan fiction site. Haven't actually got around to reading it yet as I just found it tonight. A lot of those fan ficiton things turn out to be pretty good though.
I also got a new car. Well a used new car. But it's new to me. It's a 1997 with more than 100,000 miles on it. But it's great! I mean my knees can *FIT* under the steering wheel. *FIT*. That's enough right there! ;-) I won't bother saying what KIND of car it is beyond that it's a Toyota. Lets just say it's way better than I would ever expect to have in 20 years never mind now. IT'S NICE. Like buttuh, in a manner speaking. So I cleaned out my old Camry. Man has that thing survived a lot. Most recently springing a hole in the muffler for instance. Gave it that cool deep sound you expect out of people who modify their car to have that cool deep sound. I doubt it was legal smog-wise but I didn't get pulled over. Isn't this city great! They don't enforce the speed limits much either...
Is it me or are my entries getting shorter and shorter and possibly worse? Meh. Ok here's the answer to the last title. Goodnight.
The title of the last entry, "Tappi-OOOhhhh-kah!", is from
Whose Line is it Anyway?. Ryan and Colin were doing what must be a favorite of theirs, they sell the weird music compilation, and Ryan mentioned
I Love Lucy. So Colin starts saying "Tappi-OOOhhhh-kah!...Tappi-OOOhhhh-kah!" and says "that's what Ricky used to sing isn't it?". I'm not sure why but this just made Ryan completely lose it and start laughing hysterically. That's tapioca, as in the pudding. I don't know how to spell it ok? I think when or if Whose Line ever ends Ryan and Colin should do a show together. I don't know what it would be about but if they were left alone to do their comedy routine it'd be one of the funniest things ever.
